# TO WIN!
#PiccoShades + #SunglassSelfie + #NationalSunglassesDay in a selfie post wearing your favorite pair of shades on June 27th to be in the draw to
win 1 of 10 Picco's Shades.
Held annually on June 27 National Sunglass Day celebrates the importance of wearing shades to protect the eyes from the sun's harsh ultraviolet (UV) rays.

Last year resulted in more than 1.2 billion online, social media and broadcast media impressions, becoming an official trending topic on Twitter. A snapshot of the coverage includes:

    The Cap Without a Hat
Not everyone likes to wear a cap or hat while in the sun. However, without one, trying to enjoy an activity through the harsh glare of the sun can be distracting, uncomfortable and even cause painful eye strain.
I'm on a mission to retire the Aussie Salute.
Trying to pay close attention to something you love, (like a nail-biting game of Aussie Rules) and having to constantly salute the sun is annoying and takes away from the game. I'm suggesting we retire the Aussie salute. Send it back outback where it belongs. No flies in our arena and no glare these days either.

    From footy spectator to inventor.
Sitting in the crowd at the footy, watching a cracking game between two arch-rivals. I had a cold beer in one hand and a steaming-hot pie in the other hand, things could not be better. All this and a clear view from the stadium. Football-lovers'paradise!

And then.... The bloody sun! That clear. Gone! And like every other person in the stadium, I just did the 'aussie salute to the sun' as we've always done. But this time was different.

In an attempt to keep that clear view, (beer and pie), and maintain that salute I ended up spilling my beer, pissing off the bloke next to me (sorry dude), it was clear I was not enjoying the game.

Surely there's gotta be a way to eliminate the glare that "fucks up the experience" Can a man now enjoy his beer, pie and a clear view of the game without having to wear a hat or cap? Really!

Then it was game on. I was on a mission for me and every other man and woman in that stadium!

And that's when the idea for the Picco was born.

    Trial and error.
I tried countless different types of hats, which just didn't do the job of blocking out the glare. And don't get me started on the dreaded problem of hat hair!
Nothing seemed to work as well as putting my hand above my sunglasses. And then it hit me, like a footy right on the skull! What about connecting something directly on top of my sunnies to shade my delicate little eyeballs from the afternoon sun?

    Prototyping.
I spent the next few years immersed in research and development, trying a huge variety of designs and materials in an attempt to provide the perfect solution and experience. As it turned out, it wasn't going to be as easy as just plonking a bit of plastic on top of a pair of shades. It never is right?

Visual aids are often used to help audiences of informative and persuasive speeches understand the topic being presented. Visual aids can play a large role in how the audience understands and takes in information that is presented. There are many different types of visual aids that range from handouts to presentations. The type of visual aid a speaker uses depends on their preference and the information they are trying to present.

Each type of visual aid has pros and cons that must be evaluated to ensure it will be beneficial to the overall presentation. Before incorporating visual aids into speeches, the speaker should understand that if used incorrectly, the visual will not be an aid, but a distraction.

As the project grew, so too did defining what I wanted the Picco to do for the user. There were nice to haves, good to haves and the Must Haves, Here's where I settled…

    The Picco Shade
    Cut the glare
Never again allow the glare of the sun to be the cause of missing a great moment in life.
    Retire the salute
Free up the hand that's used to salute the sun to enjoy a beer and Pie while at the game. (Or for the occasional explicit use of one finger).
    Easy
Easily rest on top of any pair of sunglasses, be super lightweight, comfortable and not be distracting to wear.
    On-the-go
Attach to sunglasses in seconds, be an On-the-go convenience, and flexible enough to fit in your pocket.
    On & off field
Can be worn if you're either the spectator or the player.
    Sleek modern
Be sleek modern and minimalist. Not over-designed, obtrusive or uncool. And to compliment the design of any pair of shades.
    Quality
Use high end plastics that would look and feel quality and be durable enough to be reused thousands of times over.
    Your
    go-to
Be the go-to gadget any time the sun's glare is going to dampen an event or experience.
    Inclusive
Perfect for all ages and didn't have to be just for sports.
    No hat or cap
Cut that glare without the need to wear or lug around a hat or a cap.
    No hat hair
Letting hat hair out after a day in the Aussie heat is never going to win you friends. (Unless they're a stylist).
I believe we've managed to pack all these features and benefits together into a great utility. I truly hope the Picco Shade is of value to you and your lifestyle, and mostly, prevents that pesky glare from getting in the way of a clear moment in life.

    — Enjoy, Pete.
